"We learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. One becomes in some area an athlete of God."
- Martha Graham @LiftImitatesFit
At the theatre, the audience watches the dancers faces, except other dancers. They watch the feet. The captivating dancer connects every muscle in her body, from the corners of her lips to her toes.
As a trainer, I want the world to see the smiles on the faces of my clients and my clients to glow from the inside out to the music of life. I do this by paying attention to their feet. It's about creating a flow, an understanding, an ability to activate everything in you. It's about technique.

My gypsy soul and old soul are certainly not mutually exclusive descriptions. In fact, they rely entirely upon one another. I may be young enough to hop fences in holy places, throw my bodyweight overhead, sprint to a subway in stillettos, and stay up all night. Although I pretend to be upset when my lifting partners call me “Little One,” my soul is old and well traveled to know that I am small. Perhaps it was growing up on the ocean or perhaps it was seeing the stars bedazzling the night sky in the desert. There is so much bigger than us. And it’s beautiful...

Ok, mom and dad, I don't want to be a stripper. Ever. I'm just saying, relatively speaking, it seems like a much better gig to me than these "fitness" shows.
I don't ever want my success measured by someone else's opinion....
If I compete at something, I want it to be as objective as possible. That's why I chose powerlifting. I make the lift or I don't. The cup size and hair color of the woman next to me makes no difference whatsoever....

Despite our size, our footprints have the potential to be IMMENSE. But for the size of our footprints to transcend time, our strength must be FIERCE and it must come from WITHIN. - Christine Hannon
The science of strength is a given. The Art is the creative side. It's the side that meets you where you are today and provides you an experience. Your body and mind are your canvas. Your limbs start the dance. Your life is a poem, a song, your song.
Become strong to lift heavy. Become strong to take risks. Become strong to love. Become strong to be vulnerable. Become strong to just be.
